Step 3: Fill I-130 using these instructions
Step 4: Mail application using these instructions

Rough Timeline:
Month 0: Submit I-130
Month 1: NOA1 (Receipt)
Month 8: NOA2 (Approval)
Month 14: Interview

Steps for consular processing:

  • Check your eligibility
  • Check your parents eligibility
  • File I-130
  • NOA1: Wait to get I-797C (receipt of the I-130)
  • Pay fees
  • File DS-260 along with supporting documents
  • Parents do biometrics, medical appointment, and interview
  • Wait to get passport with "Immediate Relative Immigrant Visa" (IR-5) and a sealed envelope (can take up to 3 weeks), do not open it
  • After arrival in the US pay a fee to get the physical green cards in the mail
